The first three bands below existed in an exciting time during the 1960s and ’70s, when rock and roll was really taking off. I and the other band members were still teenagers, making a few dollars off the gigs and having a blast at the same time. Oh the memories and stories I could tell !!
Time Peace ( Members were: George Reed on lead guitar, Bob Gates lead singer, Bill Hunter on bass guitar, Ken Civils on keyboards, and Jeff Crownover on drums.) Click below to hear them playing the Bloodrock song Timepeace.

Martha ( Members were: George Reed on rhythm guitar, Tom Swovik on lead guitar, Paul Zapotoski and Bob Gates lead singers, Bill Hunter on bass guitar, Ken Civils on keyboards, and Jeff Crownover on drums.) Click below to hear them playing the Spooky Tooth song Evil Woman.

Amazing Picnic ( Members were: George Reed on lead guitar, Sherman Moyer lead singer, Phil Kalarchik on bass guitar, Ken Civils on keyboards, Jay Arnold on trumpet, Todd Julian on saxophone, Tim Bolan on trombone, and Pat Bolan on drums.) Click below to hear them playing the Ides of March song I’m Your Vehicle.

In the following band I was a little older and slower, so I joined up with a guy who loved country music and so I gave it a try. It actually was a lot of fun playing at red-neck bars and having beer bottles fly past and smashing against the wall !!
Two for the Road (Members were: George Reed on lead guitar and back-up vocals, Bob Jones lead singer and bass guitar, and drums from the electronic Korg Rhythm 55 device.) Click below if you want to hear them playing the Eddie Rabbitt song Crossin’ the Mississippi.

I was part of the following band while serving in the Navy, and luckily during our time on-board the Billfish, we were required to support her during a shipyard overhaul. Thus we knew we would be in one place for nearly a year so we took the time to form a band. The audio sounds kinda rough, but being in the Navy (even in the shipyard) left little time for us to practice.
Spirit of ’76 [made up of members of the crew of the submarine USS Billfish (SSN-676)] (Members were: George Reed on lead guitar, Dave Higgins lead singer and rhythm guitar, Bryan Foster on bass guitar, Bruce Hartung on keyboards, and Dave Porrazzo on drums.) Click below if you want to hear them playing the Creedence Clearwater Revival song Proud Mary.
